Panchmura — Terracotta Horse Village

Near Bishnupur, and easily paired with it — the village where Bankura's famous terracotta horse craft is still made by hand, potter family by potter family.

Water & Landscape

Mukutmanipur — Dam & Reservoir

An earthen dam at the confluence of the Kangsabati and Kumari rivers, with boating and reservoir views — a half-day to full-day trip in a different direction from Bishnupur.

Hills & Forest

Susunia Hill

The closest of the district's big day trips, roughly 20-25 km out — a laterite hill with ancient rock inscriptions and a manageable early-morning trek.

Joypur Forest
